- In a survey of seventh through twelfth grade teachers, 76% believed that underage student drinking was a serious or somewhat serious problem.
- College aged students that were heavy drinkers reported a much higher likelihood of recognizing the symptoms of alcohol poisoning in another student and providing the necessary assistance; students who are not familiar with the effects of alcohol may not recognize that help is needed.

- A survey in nightclubs of people who consumed energy drinks showed that seventy-six percent used energy drinks with alcoholic beverages, some reporting that they do so in order to 'reduce' alcohol depressant effects while others do it to 'increase' the alcohol stimulant effects.
