• Research has shown that drinkers who are able to handle a lot of alcohol in one drinking episode are at higher risk of developing alcohol dependence.
• Ethanol or Ethyl Alcohol - Beverage alcohol is produced by fermenting or distilling various fruits, vegetables or grains.
• Binge alcohol use is defined as drinking five or more drinks on the same occasion on at least 1 day in the past 30 days
• According to the Task Force of the National Advisory Council on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, four out of five college students drink alcohol; approximately half of these students reported at least one episode of binge drinking in the last 2 weeks.
